SWAP has been shown to detect glaucomatous damage three to five years earlier than the standard perimetry in several studies.
Which patients benefit most?
SWAP is particularly appropriate for managing glaucoma suspects, especially younger patients. With earlier detection, doctors can start necessary glaucoma management and/or treatment earlier, potentially reducing visual field loss.
The procedure is similar to that of the Visual Field Analysis
